Woes, not today. as I said yesterday, my face got a bit burnt after the session on wednesday. This was because I had a week long break because of bank holidays. Despite not incrementing the dose, in hindsight we should’ve started a step down or 2. I am instructed to avoid the sun (easy enough in this climate) and we’ll start on a lower dose on Monday.
I’m having phototherapy. I have it 3 times a week, monday weds friday. I had to miss friday and monday sessions as it was a bank holiday.
I had my session yesterday and as there was a break in the treatment we stayed at the same level as before, instead of increasing the dosage. Unfortunately my face is a bit burnt today so I think we should’ve gone back a dose instead.
Frustrating. Hope this doesn’t mean i have to miss Friday’s session.
Today I had my first phototherapy session to tackle my psoriasis. I saw a dermatologist on Monday for the first time in 9 months and was pretty relieved when they suggested this. I was expecting them to suggest Methotrexate again (which i’ve previously turned down because of lifestyle clashes).
So now I have at least 8 weeks of UVB treatment 3 times a week.
This is timed quite well for me as I don’t think that I’m getting sent anywhere with work until April anyway.
I’ve taken a few photos today to compare to in a few weeks time so i can gauge its effectiveness. Wish me luck.
